Sadako Sasaki
Origami Peace Cranes T-Shirt
This particular t-shirt has been designed especially for women and is in honor of the “Original Origami Crane” that is now on exhibit at the Pearl Harbor Museum.
When you have the opportunity, Voices of Pearl Harbor Tours suggests that you Google Sadako Sasaki in order to learn her story, which is now legend.
Sadako believed that by folding 1000 paper cranes she might be healed from the cancer that she contracted after the Atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima helping to end World War II.
In 2013 Lauren Bruner was invited to be one of two Key Note Speakers at the Opening of this exhibit on International Peace Day, where he received a 5-minute standing ovation.
During this time he met with and became close personal friends with Sadako’s younger brother, Masahiro Sasaki, and his family who was the other Key Note Speaker at International Peace Day.
This very special t-shirt design is in honor of that friendship and the belief by both men that World Peace continues to be possible.
Should you like to read the speech that Lauren gave that day and why its message was so powerful it could be found on Roberts Hawaii Website.
